New Chief Executive Heralds West Coast Expansion
09/03/2016
9th March 2016 – Newport, Isle of Wight, UK. Jan Lindner, a respected veteran of the US games industry, has been appointed CEO of Stainless Games. With founder and majority shareholder Patrick Buckland moving sideways into the role of Executive Chairman, these changes signal a strengthening of the West Coast presence for the Isle of Wight based studio.
For nearly a decade, Stainless’ business has successfully combined the development of its unique trading card game technology on console, mobile and PC, used in the blockbuster Hasbro-owned Duels of the Planeswalkers game and the exploitation of its infamous Carmageddon action-driving brand, originated by Buckland in the late 1990s.
Welcoming Jan Lindner, Buckland said: “Jan’s unique mixture of technical and commercial skills are perfect to take Stainless on to the next stage of its story. His role will see him divide his time equally between the U.K. and the U.S., allowing us to both improve the service we give to our existing U.S. partners and to open up new opportunities for Stainless’s expertise and brands.”
With CTO tenures at Vivendi and Take 2, as well as top management spells at Spin Master and telecoms venture Leonid, Jan Lindner brings both experience gained in a distinguished corporate career in interactive entertainment software and a strong engineering background to his new role.
“As pathfinders in console download, owners of world class TCG and unique driving technology and creators of a great original brand in Carmageddon, Stainless is in a unique position to expand and refine its activities globally,” observed Jan Lindner. “I am looking forward to helping it take the exploitation of its natural advantages in the games business to another level.”
As Executive Chairman, Patrick Buckland will continue to be based at the Stainless HQ on the Isle of Wight where he will be in overall control of technical operations and explore a number of new business opportunities identified for the company.
